High Rain Fall The expansion project experienced over 630mm of rain fall from early June to late July, with 208mm falling on 17 July alone. The good news is the site held up well, with very little damage occurring to the construction area.. To read the full Ngawha update please click here.
Construction during COVID-19 When the nation went to Alert Level 4 in late March work on all aspects of the Ngawha expansion project came to a stop. Prior to lockdown, we were making good progress on multiple work fronts with up to 200 people on site on any one day. Contractors were focused on mechanical erection of the main power station equipment, construction of the electrical switch rooms, installation of the geothermal fluid piping, and the electrical fitout of the Ngawha substation....
